Seikukan seeks a balance between technique and spirit. Spiritually, the system seeks to develope a peaceful mind. Technically, the style strives to find balance between hand and foot techniques, classical forms, sport, kumite, and self defence.Training incorporates the classical Okinawan kata that was first introduced to mainland Japan.
Chinese Kickboxing
A hybrid philosophy of martial arts heavily influenced by the personal philosophy and experiences of martial artist Bruce Lee and Jeet Kune Do (JKD). Chinese Kickboxing is a "non-classical" way of combat. Unlike more traditional martial arts, it is not fixed or patterned, and is a philosophy with guiding thoughts believed that in order to "fully express oneself, one must" "have no limitations". Chinese Kickboxing includes all possible forms of strikes: attacks to the groin, finger jab to the eye, trapping of hands and feet, interception or attacking while one's opponent is about to attack. Practitioners believe in minimal movement with maximum effect. You can call it the art of fighting without fighting. The JKD system's concept was one of the first early form of what we know now as MMA. "The art of expressing the human body" believed real combat was spontaneous, and a martial artist cannot predict it, but only react to it, and a good martial artist should "be like water"—move fluidly without hesitation.
American Combat Arts
A.C.A. Jujitsu under the direction of Master Greg Burcham, is a hard hitting, street practical and fluid approach to self defense. Combining body mechanics, fight science and striking in a manner that makes sense.
Shorin Te Kenpo
